WHAT:
Nonviolent Communication serves our desire to increase our ability to live with choice, meaning and connection.Connect empathically with self and others to have more satisfying relationships. “Nonviolent Communication shows us a way of being very honest, without any criticism, insults, or put-downs and without any intellectual diagnosis implying wrongness.” Marshall Rosenberg, PhD
We will pursue this endeavor by reading and discussing the book “Nonviolent Communication” (third Edition) by Marshall Rosenberg and practicing NVC by reading and completing exercises in the Nonviolent Communication Companion Workbook (Second Edition) by Lucy Leu https://www.nonviolentcommunication.com/
HOW:
Each session will cover one chapter of the book and will be led by a facilitator. The emphasis will be on practice. To prepare for the practice sessions it will be necessary to have read the chapter beforehand.
COST:
This study group is FREE, but again you will need to purchase Marshall Rosenburg’s Nonviolent Communication book and Lucy Lue’s Nonviolent Communication Companion Workbook. Available from Amazon
Compassionate Communication Monthly Gathering
We gather to explore a Nonviolent Communication theme (for example: honest expression, deep listening, self-connection). This usually includes doing an exercise or role play, plus opportunities to reflect about ways the theme relates to our own life situations. Each gathering concludes with expressions of gratitude.
